Lexington, Ky. (August 8, 2019) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association is pleased to announce the California Coaches Association has agreed to become the sixth AVCA Signature Affiliate state association.

The agreement, retroactively effective to July 1, 2019, makes the AVCA the “Official Volleyball Coaching Education Partner of the CCA.” Under the terms of the three-year agreement, high school/interscholastic volleyball coaches actively coaching in the state of California will receive dual membership in the CCA and the AVCA.

“The AVCA is excited about the opportunity to partner with the California Coaches Association to serve the high school volleyball coaches in such a volleyball rich state,” said AVCA Director of Membership Kennedy Wells. “The CCA provides an excellent forum to promote the value of being engaged in the national coaches association while effectively partnering to enhance the member benefits and resources available to volleyball coaches in California.”

The California Coaches Association dates to the late 1950s and currently serves as the only active multi-sport coaches association in the state of California. Because of the CCA’s diversity, the California Coaches Association is the only coaches’ organization that has a vote and a voice with the CIF State Federated Council.

“The California Coaches Association is proud and excited to partner with the American Volleyball Coaches Association,” said CCA Executive Director Chris Fore. “This is the first partnership that we've had with a national organization in quite some time. The AVCA provides coaches high quality instruction and resources that we firmly believe will be a great resource to help our coaches become even better at what they do.”

The CCA joins the Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association, the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association, the Nebraska Coaches Association (Volleyball), the New York Volleyball Coaches Association, and the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association as AVCA Signature Affiliate Partner state associations.
