In 1965, Rockwell and Bob Troppmann organized the Athletic Directors and incorporated them with Cal Coaches. Bill Rockwell taught physical education and coached basketball at Fremont HS in 0akland. In the late 50's, he moved on to coach basketball and teach at 0akland Junior College (it is now known as Merritt College).
